Billy Talent’s UK tour has just come to a close, and with support from Say Yes and the popular Young Guns it’s been a hectic, exciting, run of shows.
Say Yes opened up the night, the three man rock band from Ontario, Canada played a short but engaging set, and successfully paved the way for Young Guns and Billy Talent.
Young Guns took to the stage shortly afterwards, a support act that was clearly heavily anticipated by the excited crowd. Playing through most of their new material, they did a great job of warming up the crowd for the headliners, and seemed exceptionally excited to be opening for Billy Talent at their hometown show. They closed their set with I Want Out, and the fan favourite – Bones.
Billy Talent came onstage to a roar of applause from the electrified crowd. The Canadian rock band, who formed in 1993, opened their set with Devil In A Midnight Mass and This Suffering.
Billy Talent have spent the past fortnight touring the UK, and today head over to France to kick off the mainland European leg of their tour.
Billy Talent stormed the stage rife with energy, going on to perform Big Red Gun and Afraid of Heights, from their latest album, it charted 1st in the Canadian Billboard Charts, and watching them performing it’s clear to see they’re still full of all the charisma and drive as they’re known for.
With a dedicated fanbase filling the venue and singing every word , the band blasted through tracks like The Crutch, Pins And Needles, Ghost Ship and This Is How It Goes, which featured a surprise appearance of Ben from Royal Blood on drums.
Billy Talent closed their set with the famous Try Honesty, Fallen Leaves and Red Flag. They’re a spectacular band to watch, with a lively, dynamic and funny stage presence, combined with fast-paced and fiery and passionate music, Billy Talent are a band everyone should take the time to listen to.
