The 1975 in Pictures - The Dome, Tufnell Park.
On Wednesday night The 1975 won the title of Best British Band at the Brit Awards, prior to that the band performed an intimate show to 500 fans at The Dome in Tufnell Park in aid of War Child. Watching their performance that evening, it's clear to see why they won the title.
The excitement in the room was electrifying, and the deafnening screams and applause when The 1975, the first track from their latest album started playing, was enough to send shivers down your spine.
The 1975 kicked off thier set with the popular lead single from I Like It When You Sleep For You Are so Beautiful Yet so Unaware of It, Love Me, a hectic pop tune which saw frontman Matty Healy take full control of the stage, with a flambuoyant enthusiasm. Healy addressed the crowd after Love Me, exclaiming "This is fucking wicked!" This was followed hastily by UGH! Pink lighting flooded the stage throughout the opening of their set, and the song saw the sold out venue singing along with what felt like more force than the entirety of the O2 Arena.
The 1975 continued with Heart Out, from their first self-titled album, the atmosphere onstage changed with the songs, and saw blue lighting flood the venue. Throughout their set The 1975 performed a variety of songs from both albums, including A Change of Heart, Robbers, Fallingforyou, Paris, Girls and Sex.
Although the intimacy of the venue meant there was no room for The 1975's usual stage layout of pillars and illuminated rectangles, this didn't affect the show at all, and perhaps in this case even added to the uniqueness of it all. The 1975 ended their set with the famous Chocolate, and The Sound,
